Ну на сервере?

ЗЫ По сути есть несколько путей до них добирания:
1. Собственно подкаталог \pg_log на сервере под виндой, или
асилить
2. ИМХО в ПгАдмине есть просмотр логов, но в этом не уверен.

Ну... бывает. Ось то хоть какая? Винда? Линух? Фря?

1. /var/log/pgsql_log ?
2. c:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.2\data\pg_log\?

Там будут файлики посмотреть последний по дате создания.
Может там чего интерестного.

PG в отличие от МС ничего в реестре не хранит. Юних-лайк идеология.
Если экземпляр БД стоит где-то в другом месте, кудато- в странное место сделано инициализациё инстенса и т.д. и т.п. - то поискать там.

Это просто сдохъ клиент или tcp/ip канал между сервером и клиентом.
Может быть это проблемы .NETовского драйвера к PostgreSQL, может быть что-то дивное в сети или аппаратные проблемы со связью. Елси найти не удастся - сделать обработку этой баги на С#, что бы при ней просто перезаливать данные от последнего коммита.

Это значит что сервер "задрачивается" путем заливания дофига данных. Может действительно сделать побольше сегментов, как в хинте и написано? Правда я не в курсе реально ли это помогает.

Конфигурацию потсгреса никто нетрогал .как стал по умолчанию так и стоит.

Я уверен, что об этом написано как в логе (в хинте) так и документации.

Мля, коллега, ну не позорьте "наше файне мiсто", читайте доки (Вы ж наверняка BOL читали, а у ПГ тоже есть chm-ный хелп) и юзайте гугль
