Я эту инструкцию писАл в прошлом году в расчёте на своего начальника, соответственно она очень user-friendly :)


To configure Log Shipping (LS) on SQL Server 2000:
1. Setup a share on Primary server, which the transaction logs are going to be backed up to.
2. Go to Enterprise Manager => Database Maintenance Plans => New Plan
3. On the first screen choose the database that you’d like LS to be installed for. Click the checkbox for Log Shipping.
4. Uncheck the “Backup database as part of the Plan” option on one of the next screens.
5. On the next screen choose “Use This Directory” option and “Create subdirectory for each database” option, if available. Enter the location you want Log Shipping to use and change the setting to retain files for 1 day.
6. On the next screen browse to pick up a share that you created in Step #1
7. On the next screen click “Add”.
8. Choose the server to be a Target for Log Shipping. Note: the server must be registered and must be running Enterprise Edition to appear in this list and be available for Log Shipping.
9. On the target server, create a folder “F:\ShippedLogs” and enter its location and name in the appropriate textbox as a target folder.
10. Enter information for the target database. Note: if you choose to create new database to be a target, then you’d have to change data and log placement from the defaults provided by SQL Server.
11. Choose a desired Load State (“Stand By”) and check the “Terminate Users” checkbox
12. If you’d like the target to be able to assume Primary role, then fill in an appropriate field for the Log Backups Destination. Note: if you decided to use this option, you‘d need to repeat Step#1 for this Server and create a new share.
13. Choose between using most recent backup and performing a backup as part of Log Shipping Installation (“Backup Now”).
14. View the schedule and change it if desired.
15. Specify the server for the monitoring tool to be installed on.
16. Choose whether to use log files and enter appropriate paths.
17. Specify whether MSDB should be used for logging.
18. Give the Plan a Short but descriptive name.
19. Press “Finish”.

Добавить могу только то, что Агенты и Серверы должны бегать под доменными эккаунтами, которые должны быть правильно trusted. Не забудьте, также, про permissions на той share куда бэкапается primary database - эккаунт, под которым бегает Агент вторичного сервера должен иметь туда доступ.
