http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;837136 ОНО? Problem using linked tables in an Access 2003 database under SourceSafe control Относится к SYMPTOMS When you work with a database under Microsoft Visual SourceSafe control, linked tables may become local tables in Microsoft Office Access 2003. The imported local tables may replace the linked tables. This gives you a snapshot of your data at the time the tables are imported. Important Microsoft does not support and does not recommend that you use the SourceSafe add-in from Microsoft Office XP Developer with Access 2003. CAUSE You may experience this problem when you have a database under SourceSafe control, and you either check out a table or you create a new copy of the database. WORKAROUND Use earlier versions of the SourceSafe add-in as a temporary workaround until a more permanent solution is available. Only use earlier versions of the SourceSafe add-in as a temporary workaround when the SourceSafe add-in does not lead to additional problems with your database development. Continue to use the local tables while you develop your database. After you remove the database source control, delete the local tables, and then re-create the links to the original back-end tables. Remember, if the structure of the back-end tables changes, the structure of the local tables does not change. Therefore, the changes do not appear in the front-end database. This may cause errors when you re-create the links to the back-end database. STATUS Microsoft is currently investigating this issue. Updates will be made to this article when more information is available. MORE INFORMATION If you have Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 6.0d, you must install the following hotfix before you can add a database to SourceSafe. For additional information about the hotfix that you must install, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 822845 FIX: After you archive and then restore a project, OLE automation cannot retrieve older versions of a file Steps to reproduce the problem Locate the Northwind.mdb sample database to make sure that the Northwind.mdb sample database is installed. By default, the Northwind.mdb sample database is located in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Samples folder. Create a new, blank database that is named Db1.mdb. On the File menu, point to Get External Data, and then click Link Tables. Select the Northwind.mdb sample database, and then click Link. In the Link Tables dialog box, click the Shippers table, and then click OK. Notice that the Shippers table has the linked-table icon. On the Tools menu, point to Database Utilities, and then click Linked Table Manager. Click Cancel, and then close the Db1.mdb database. Create a new folder to hold the add-in files. For example, you may create the following new folder to hold the add-in files: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Productivity Tools In this example, C: is a placeholder for the drive that Microsoft Office 2003 is installed on. Locate the following folder on your Office XP Developer CD: <CD>\Program Files\Microsoft Office Developer\Productivity Tools Copy the following four add-in files from the Office XP Developer CD to the folder that you created in step 7. Accscc10.dll Addsccus.dll Sccaccus.cnt Sccaccus.hlp Manually register the AccScc10.dll file by using Regsvr32.exe. To do this, following these steps: Click Start, and then click Run. Clear the contents of the Open box. Type the following line: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Productivity Tools\AccScc10.dll Click OK. Note After you register the AccScc10.dll file, you cannot unregister the AccScc10.dll file by using Regsvr32.exe /u. Start Access 2003. Open the Db1.mdb database that you created in step 2. On the Tools menu, point to SourceSafe, and then click Add Database to SourceSafe. Note This menu option only appears if you have the Visual SourceSafe client installed on the same computer that you are using to follow these steps. Click Yes when you receive the prompt to close the file. Provide a valid Username, a valid Password, and a valid database name to log on to SourceSafe. Enter the name of the project, and then click OK. In the Add Objects to SourceSafe dialog box, click OK. Right-click the Shippers table, and then click Check Out. On the Tools menu, point to Database Utilities, and then click Linked Table Manager. Notice that the Shippers table no longer has the linked-table icon. You may also receive the following message: There are no linked Tables in the current database. Right-click the Shippers table, and then click Undo Check Out. http://%5D%5B/url]http://] ... |
