I have proble with configuration Informix KAIO with dabaspaces on a stograge.
According to release notes there are two ways in making async device.
If am using storage with HP-UX (look ptk. 2 below) what command I shiuld use:
/usr/sbin/mknod /dev/async c 101 0 or
/usr/sbin/mknod /dev/async c 101 4
?
o. HP KAIO driver "asyncdsk" is installed and linked into the kernel.
o. To ensure KAIO driver is up and running, check to see if there
is /dev/async, if not follow these steps:
1) su root
2) If using HP hardware/OS redundancy or mirroring then create
the async device as follows:

/usr/sbin/mknod /dev/async c 101 0

else if using Informix mirroring or no hardware/OS mirroring
or no mirroring at all then create the async device as follows:

/usr/sbin/mknod /dev/async c 101 4
3) chmod 0666 /dev/async

What kind of volumes are there on the storage? Is they redundant?
If your volumes is redundant and you don't going to use informix mirroring
, use the first comand.
