IBM DB2 BLU Acceleration Kit for Trial - Available for Download

On behalf of the team, I would like to take this opportunity to announce that the DB2 BLU Acceleration Kit for Trial is now available for download for internal IBMers and external business partners and customers. I would like to thank the many colleagues that have supported the team throughout the development of the kit.

What is the DB2 BLU Acceleration Kit?
The DB2 BLU Acceleration Kit is a sample showcase of the new feature and its ability to enhance productivity of organizations.

This kit accelerates the adoption of DB2 BLU Acceleration feature, by creating an automated and pre-configured installable system image allowing the audience to experience and leverage DB2 BLU Acceleration.

Features of the kit :
- Auto deployment of the Linux OS, DB2 10.5, IBM Data Studio, and IBM Database Conversion Workbench (DCW) onto an Intel x86_64 compatible machine
- Flexible machine targets - can be installed in any generic x86_64 or virtual machines
- Installable via a DVD or USB stick
- Installation wizards and automated scripts deploy multiple components in the SW stack in 15 minutes
- The only essential user inputs required (passwords etc) – automation takes care of the rest
- Detailed hardware specification recommendations provided in Start-up Guide documentation - Suggested memory size is 1/10th of data size, disk is suggested equal to data size. E.g. 1TB data means 96GB RAM and a 4x 256GB SSD.
DB2 BLU Acceleration kit installs a DB2 10.5 Advanced Workgroup Edition 90 day trial license (If desired, it can be converted to a supported environment via purchase and installation of DB2 10.5 Advanced Workgroup Edition AND SLES 11 licenses).
