GT.M pre-installed on Micro Core Linux under coLinux

Restrictions

Installation
------------

	Unpack coLinux folder to c:\


Configuration
-------------

	All files needed to run Micro Core reside in microcore folder. Other files
	are from coLinux distribution and are not modified. (Not all files from
	coLinux distribution are supplied.)

	microcore.bat - is used to start Micro Core;
	microcore.cfg - coLinux configuration file;
	microcore.fs  - ext3 formated virtual disk;
	microcore.gz  - remastered Micro Core ram disk;

	You might be interested in some modifications to microcore.cfg:

	initrd=microcore.gz base norestore ...
		this line defines bootcodes that are passed to Micro Core during boot;
		generally there is no need to change codes other than timezone;
		you may refer to http://www.tinycorelinux.com/faq.html#bootcodes for
		additional information.

	microcore.fs is mounted as /dev/hda device under /mnt/hda mount point.

	c:\coLinux folder is mounted as /dev/hdc device under /mnt/hdc mount point.
	You may change it to your preference (i.e d:\Your\Shared\Folder).

	IMPORTANT:
	
	Besides /mnt/hda and /mnt/hdc only two folders are persistent: /opt and /home.
	Micro Core holds root file system in memory. If you'll store your files under
	any places other than these four mentioned folders your files will be gone after
	reboot. /root folder is NOT persistent. If you want to persist your files in
	other places Micro Core provides special mechanisms called backup and restore.

	After successful boot into system you may type df to see mounted devices and
	available disk spaces.

	Keep in mind that GT.M is unable to write to cofs device (e.g. to c:\coLinux).

	GT.M related environment variables are set system-wide:
	gtm_dist=/opt/gtm
	gtmroutines=". $gtm_dist"
	gtmgbldir=/opt/var/dat/mumps.gld
	gtm_log=/opt/var/log
	gtm_tmp=/opt/var/tmp
	gtm_retention=1
	TERM=rxvt

Running
-------
	
	Run microcore.bat. Console window will open and you'll see log messages of
	coLinux and Micro Core boot proccesses. After a successful boot Micro Core
	proceeds to autologin and you are placed at the command prompt. Type: gtm.

	If something goes wrong during boot and you are unable to catch it from logs,
	you may pause autologin by adding "pause" to initrd as one of the bootcodes.

	Micro Core has two users defined by default:
	login: root password: root    group: root
	login: tc   password: <empty> group: staff

	Being logged as tc type su to get superuser rights.

	To shutdown linux environment type halt.
