Software for a gear grinding machine
The software will calculate the tool paths for a gear grinding machine, with the geometric dimensions of gear and some machine parameters input by the operator. The machine is grinding the preprocessed gearwheels with a grinding wheel. The software, we will have to develop will overtake the geometric input parameters of the user like diameter of the gearwheel, number of teeth, + and calculate the form of the grinding wheel out of them. Only in case of spur gears, the surface of the grinding wheel will have the form of an evolvent. In case of skewed teeth it will not be an evolvent.
Of course, there are a lot of further tasks to be done:
1. Creating input dialogues for the Siemens CNC controller, on which the software has to be running.
2. Generating the tool paths for the dressing of the grinding wheel
3. Generating the tool paths of the grinding wheel to cut the gearwheel
4. Get the software running on the machine: interpret the measurements of a measuring machine and debug.
If the developer is able to resolve the basic point, he will be able to resolve the other points but not everybody, who is able to create the input dialogues, will be able to resolve the basic mathematical problem.
